  • Aside from cervical cancer, most gynaecological cancers are diagnosed in women over the age of 50.
  • More than 70% of vaginal cancers are diagnosed in women over 60.
  • Around 15% of cases of vulval cancer are in women younger than 50.
  • 1 in 10 ovarian cancers develop due to an inherited faulty gene
  • HPV is the major cause of cervical cancer and is responsible for about 40% of vulval cancers.
  • 90% of cases of womb cancer are diagnosed after seeking help for post-menopausal or irregular vaginal bleeding.


  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding (after menopause, in-between periods, after sex, etc.)

  • Swelling of the abdomen
