To the manner porn: the corrosive influence on a generation

Purple Orchid Pharma, the women’s self-care company, is committed to the aim of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to establish a “life-course approach” to health, encouraging women to be proactive about looking after their health and wellbeing.

We present to you a new section on our website called Dare to Care. In this section we will address important issues for women's health, both physical and psychological. We invite you to drop in, take a seat and join us on this journey by sharing your thoughts and asking questions that interest you.

Our first article was written by respect psychosexual counsellor, Angela Gregory, BA (Hons), PST Dip, CH Dip, COSRT acc. Angela is the Lead for Psychosexual Therapy at the Chandos Clinic, a sexual dysfunction service for men and women at Nottingham University Hospital Trust. She has worked as a full-time Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapist for the past 15 years.  She provides in-house training for both medical and nursing staff and regularly lectures at a national level.

In the "To the manner porn" article, Angela discusses a corrosive influence of high-speed hard-core images on new generations and consequences that arise from it. A new NSPCC survey has revealed that 10% of 12 and 13 year olds are worried about their pornography habits. We at Purple Orchid Pharma feel very passionate about this problem and we do believe that the first step in the right direction is an open, public debate. We invite you to join our debate on Twitter and help us raise the awareness about this growing problem amongst young adults and teenagers.

Angela is hosting a Q&A session on Purple Orchid Pharma website - we encourage you to send us your questions via the form provided here at the bottom of the page.
